A contemporary approach to the highly prized and prestigious eighteenth century French Porcelain famously made at Sevres.
It was a surprising point of departure growing from a long-lived feeling of intense dislike to one of intrigue and fascination, quickly leading to a modern day celebration of the vases that I overlooked.
I aim to elevate the made sculptural vessels through surface exploration into the use of decoration, colour and adornment, whilst allowing a new freedom of expression, relinquishing control of the materials and leaving traces of the maker.
